Spectral Types Series of Multiple Stars


This image is a composite of individual spectra taken various nights. The images were all taken using the SBIG ST-7 through the Takahashi FSQ-106n or the Celestron 8 with a Rainbow Optics grating in the CFW-8 filter wheel. All spectra have the same resolution of 17.49756 Angstroms per pixel and have been aligned in the image such that their frequencies match. They have also been ordered according to their spectral sequence. “A” stands for the atmospheric absorption line (telluric line) that indicates the red to infra-red boundary. Hydrogen lines alpha and beta have also been marked (at 6562.852 and 4861.33 Angstroms respectively).
